Air Asia Flyporter

AirAsia is a Malaysian multinational low-cost airline and it is one of the largest airline in aisa by fleet size and destinations. Air Asia, in collaboration with Carter X  (A doorstep baggage delivery service to and from airport) launched first-of-its-kind contact-less door to door baggage services for its guests that promises to make the travel experience more comfortable, branded as Air Asia Flyporter.

In 2020, when Covid-19 pandemic was creating a paradigm shift in the travel and service industries, AirAsia’s FlyPorter service introduced a more safe, stringent and hassle-free way to transport your baggage as well.

The Goal

Develop logo and color guides for Air Asia Flyporter.

The Challenge

As Air Asia flyporter being one of its many services, the logo had to be unique as well as needed to fit together as a family of logos under Air Asia’s ‘umbrella’ main brand.

My Approach

Air Asia ‘umbrella brand’ logo is a logotype with angled lettering. The bolder lines of the letters makes the badge look more stable and professional, showing the air carrier as a solid and confident company with traditional values.

Keeping their values in mind, I started sketching out the visual identity for Air Asia’s Flyporter sub-brand to create a logo that is unique yet a part of the Air Asia family.

Visual Identity

The visual identity for Air Asia’s Flyporter was created with more focus on a logotype with bold fonts. I also introduced a logomark as part of the logotype that will help convey the service and make the logo standout from their other sub brands.

The logomark was developed keeping in mind their door to door contactless baggage delivery service. Using Air Asia’s stated brand guidelines, the primary colors remained the Air Asia red and white with a pop of yellow. The yellow in logomark was used to symbolize happiness, warmth and sunshine during the cover-19 dark times.

Design Adaptation

The logomark was adapted on their portal to book baggage delivery service, print collaterals, hoardings and kiosks at airports and merchandise.
